Rock landscaping that does not turn your yard into a parking lot.

Gravel and rock work best as mulch between plants, not as a replacement for them. We use crushed rock and boulders for paths, dry creek beds and plant mulch, and we keep plant coverage high enough to avoid the heat-island effect of bare rock yards.

The honest answer on rock yards

A yard that is all rock gets ten to fifteen degrees hotter than a planted one, reflects heat into your house and does not qualify for a rebate. Rock as mulch around real plants, with a few boulders to give the design weight, gives you the low maintenance without the oven.

Questions about rock and gravel landscaping

Does an all-rock yard qualify for the Utah rebate?

No. Programs require at least half the project area covered by plants at maturity. We design rock as mulch and structure, with plants doing the covering.

Start with the strip.

A fixed-price park strip conversion, planted to rebate standard, paperwork handled. Most strips are done in a day.
