Rebates · updated for 2027
Utah pays you to remove lawn. Here is every program.
Most Salt Lake Valley homeowners qualify for a per-square-foot rebate when they replace lawn with water-wise planting on drip. You apply through Utah Water Savers, your local water district funds it, and the rate depends on your address. We handle the photos, plan and plant list for every job we do.
How the rebate works, start to finish
- Apply before you touch the lawn. Create an account at utahwatersavers.com, enter your address, and submit pre-project photos. Approval is required before removal.
- Remove all turf in the project area. Partial removal does not qualify.
- Replant to standard. Drip irrigation only, and at least half the area covered by plants at maturity. Rock-only yards are not eligible.
- Submit final photos and your plant list. The district inspects by photo or in person and pays by square foot.
