What is xeriscape, and is it the same as zeroscape?

Xeriscape means landscaping designed to need little or no irrigation beyond natural rainfall: the right plants, grouped by water need, on drip, with mulch. "Zeroscape" is a common misspelling that people also use to mean an all-rock yard. We do xeriscape with plants, not rock-only yards, because that is what looks good, stays cool and qualifies for the rebate.

How much does xeriscape cost in Utah?

A park strip conversion is the entry point and is quoted as a fixed price by square footage. Full front yards and whole lots are quoted per square foot and vary with sod removal, drip conversion, rock tonnage and plant density. Rebates typically cover a meaningful share of a strip and a smaller share of a full yard. We publish current ranges on our cost page and quote every job in writing.

Do you handle the Utah Water Savers rebate paperwork?

Yes. We send you the pre-project photos, plan and plant list the application needs, tell you when to submit, and provide the final photos. You apply and receive the rebate directly; we just make it painless.

Where do you work?

Salt Lake County first: Sandy, Draper, South Jordan, Riverton, Herriman, West Jordan, Cottonwood Heights, Holladay, Millcreek and Murray. Salt Lake City proper, Davis County and north Utah County by schedule.

When should I schedule?

Install season runs April through October, and fall is the best planting window for natives. Winter is when we design, so a yard planned in January is first in line in April.

Will a water-wise yard look like a desert?

Not the way we do it. Think of the foothills in May: penstemon, flax, buckwheat, grasses and shrubs with real structure, mountains behind. Our plant pages show what each one looks like in bloom.

Start with the strip.

A fixed-price park strip conversion, planted to rebate standard, paperwork handled. Most strips are done in a day.
